MYDIME-AV Injection is a combination of Ceftazidime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Avibactam, a novel non–β-lactam β-lactamase inhibitor. Ceftazidime kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Avibactam prevents the degradation of ceftazidime by β-lactamase enzymes, thereby enhancing its effectiveness against resistant bacteria. This powerful combination is used for the treatment of complicated infections caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacteriaceae.
